Zarinsk made a winning start to her career with a win at the Curragh in May of her juvenile year. She was quick out of the stalls and managed to find enough to hold off some determined challengers to win by a neck.
Two more runs in Group company, placing fourth on both occasions, saw her gain more experience before her start in the Listed Ingabelle Stakes at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Day. She broke sharply and seized control of the race immediately. Shaken up with two furlongs to go she extended her lead, reaching the line two and a half lengths clear of her nearest rival for her first blacktype success.
In Zarink's first outing as a three-year-old she ran to third place in the Gr.3 Priory Belle 1000 Guineas Stakes at Leopardstown. Her next run in the Gr.3 Cornelscourt Stakes, again at Leopardstown, saw a change in tactics with a dominant front-running performance that she maintained to finish a length and a quarter ahead of her nearest challenger, Tarawa, at the line.
She registered a third blacktype success in the Gr.3 Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse in July. As she had in the Listed Ingabelle Stakes and Gr.3 Cornelscourt Stakes she proved ruthless once asked to extend her lead in the straight. She hit the line strongly with two and a half lengths to spare over the runner-up.
Just over a fortnight later Zarinsk ran in the rescheduled Gr.2 Minstrel Stakes at Leopardstown. In front early again she held her lead to cross the line three-quarters of a length ahead of her nearest rival for her third Group win of the season.
Zarinsk is the first Group winner produced by Pavlosk (herself a stakes winner). Pavlosk is a full sister to Listed winner Rostova and a half-sister to dual Gr.3 winner Exhibit One who was also Gr.1 placed and the dam of Gr.3 winner Maitres d'Art.
