Time Lock (GB)
b f Frankel - Time Chaser (Dubawi)
Harry Charlton
Time Lock broke her maiden with a six and a half-length winning margin at Newmarket in May of her three-year-old season. She was aimed at the Listed Galtres Stakes at York's Ebor meeting where she narrowly lost out to fellow Juddmonte homebred Haskoy.
She returned to the racecourse in May 2023, placing second in the Listed Daisy Warwick Fillies' Stakes at Goodwood before running to third place in the Group 2 Lillie Langtry Stakes at the same track. Her stakes-winning breakthrough came at Craon in early September with facile win in the Listed Grand Prix de Craon.
Time Lock built on that Stakes breakthrough, returning to the track at the end of September in the Gr.3 Princess Royal Stakes. A beautifully timed run under Ryan Moore saw her hit the front two furlongs from home and she duly ran on to a four and a quarter-length winning margin.
Juddmonte Racing Manager Barry Mahon said: “They went quick, and they went a proper mile and a half pace for a Gr.3. She’s done it well and she stays well."
Time Lock is the first foal out of Time Chaser, a full-sister to Passage Of Time's four-times Group-winning sire Time Test and a half to her Gr.3 Sovereign Stakes and Gr.3 Prix Quincey-winning son Tempus (Kingman). Passage Of Time, who was also third in the Gr.1 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, is a full-sister to the Gr.2 King Edward VII Stakes winner Father Time and a half to the Gr.1 Falmouth Stakes heroine Timepiece (Zamindar) while this is also the family of the four times Group 1-winning Twice Over (Observatory) and the Gr.1 Matriarch Stakes heroine Viadera (Bated Breath).
