Straight Answer (GB)

Straight Answer made a smart winning debut at the Curragh in August of his juvenile year, easily holding his nearest challenger to a length and a quarter deficit.

He rapidly backed up this performance with his first blacktype win a month later in the Listed Blenheim Stakes at Fairyhouse on 20th September. He led from the early stages of the race and never relinquished his advantage, going well clear to score by five and a half lengths.

Straight Answer made his seasonal return in April 2022 with a second place finish in the Listed Committed Stakes at Navan.

Straight Answer transferred to US trainer Brad Cox in 2022.

He is the first stakes scorer from two winners out of the Gr.2-placed winner Straight Thinking (Mizzen Mast). His dam is a half-sister to the Gr.1 Prix Jean Romanet winner Announce and to the Gr.3 winner Mexcian Gold, who landed the Prix de la Grotte. Their dam Hachita was a dual winner and produced two other stakes performers among nine winners from ten runners.
