Scylla (USA)

Scylla began her career as a three-year-old, making a winning debut over six furlongs at Keeneland in April 2023, earning herself a TDN 'Rising Star' tag in the process. She won again that season in a Churchill Downs Allowance race over a mile.

Her four-year-old season began with a second place finish in another Allowance race over a mile, this time at Gulfstream Park. She went on to place third in her first Graded race, the Gr.3 Doubledogdare Stakes at Keeneland in April and then scored another win at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Derby day with a seven-length winning margin.

She went into the Gr.3 Shawnee Stakes at Churchill Downs as race favourite and duly obliged beating Graded winners Xigera and Wet Paint in comfortable fashion.
