Quadrilateral, a daughter of Frankel, was unbeaten as a juvenile. After a winning debut at Newbury in August, she won a Conditions event at the same track by an impressive nine lengths the following month, surging to the head of the market for the 2020 Gr.1 1000 Guineas. The performance led to her being supplemented for the Gr.1 Fillies Mile at Newmarket in October, and the decision proved a wise one as Quadrilateral became another Group 1 winning two-year-old for her sire Frankel.
She had provided her 19-year-old jockey Jason Watson with his first British Group 1 winner. He said: "It's a big fairytale, I can't believe it… She's a very talented filly and I'd say she got me out of trouble. She's very tough and it's the first time she's had a proper race."
Quadrilateral remained as favourite for the first fillies Classic going into the 2020 season. In a Gr.1 1000 Guineas rescheduled due to COVID-19, Quadrilateral finished third to Love, and two weeks later followed up with another place in the Gr.1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
