Qirat got off the mark on only the second start of his two-year-old season, breaking his maiden in a nine-runner novice race at Kempton. He was gelded at the end of his juvenile year.
His first win as a three-year-old came in a handicap race at Goodwood in May 2024 over seven furlongs, a feat he repeated at the same track in August that same year. His climb up the ratings saw him entered for his first stakes race, the Listed Robin Hood Stakes at Nottingham where he placed second to earn his first blacktype.
He returned to Goodwood in August 2025 to run in the Gr.1 Sussex Stakes alongside fellow Juddmonte runner, dual Gr.1 winner Field Of Gold. He took up the running under jockey Richard Kingscote before Serengeti took the lead after three furlongs. The pair continued in that order into the home straight with the remainder of the field detached. A furlong from home he took the lead back from Serengeti and kept producing to hit the line a neck in front of fast-finishing Rosallion who had emerged from the pack to bridge the gap to the pacesetters.
At a starting rpice of 150-1, Qirat became the biggest-priced winner of a Group 1 in Britain and Ireland in the modern era.
Qirat, a half-brother to Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Bluestocking, is the second Group 1 winner produced by Gr.1 Matron Stakes winner Emulous (Dansili). Emulous is herself a full sister to Daring Diva, the grandam of Gr.1 Kentucky Derby winner Mandaloun.
