Ottery (GB)

Ottery made her debut late into her two-year-old year, placing third in a Chantilly maiden race on 15th November. She made her racecourse reappearance in the following April, breaking her maiden by a length and three-quarter verdict over her nearest pursuer Kamiyah, over a mile at Saint-Cloud.

A further two unplaced finishes over 10½ furlongs and 10 furlongs saw her upped in trip to 12f for the Gr.3 Prix de Royaumont at Chantilly in June 2023. Held in the rear until well beyond halfway, she made eye-catching headway into contention in the straight and delivered a decisive punch entering the final furlong, surging ahead to win by one and a half lengths from Boogie Woogie for her first blacktype victory.

Ottery made her four-year-old seasonal debut a winning one with comfortable victory in the Listed Prix Zarkava at ParisLongchamp on 7th April.

Bred by Al Shahania Stud and purchased at Tattersalls October Book 1 yearling sale, she hails from the family of Group winner and Group 1-placed Lauro and Gr.1 Deutches Derby winners Lando and Laroche.
