Latakia began her racing career as a four-year-old winning on debut over 12 furlongs in a Nantes maiden race in May 2025. Her next race saw her in Listed company in the Prix Pawnees at Chantilly where she finished down the field. She was then aimed at the Listed Prix Luth Enchantee at Clairefontaine in August where she secured her first blacktype win.
Latakia was bred by SARL Darpat France and was purchased at the 2021 Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale for €590,000. She is the second winner by Frankel out of the French Gr.2 and Gr.3 winner Castellar, a half-sister to the dual French Gr.1 winner and sire Recoletos.
