Kingman filly Coppice won her sole start as a juvenile, a seven furlong novice race in October 2022. She went on to win a another novice in the early part of her three-year-old season before heading to the Royal meeting at Ascot where she claimed the competitive 29-runner Sandringham Handicap.
She went on to claim a competitive renewal of the Listed Rosemary Stakes at Newmarket, prevailing by half a length in a blanket finish for her first stakes victory.
Coppice transferred from John and Thady Gosden to US trainer Chad Brown for her four-year-old season.
Homebred Coppice is a full-sister to the Gr.2 Coventry Stakes winner and sire Calyx, out of the Gr.3 Prix d’Aumale winner and Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac runner-up Helleborine (Observatory). Helleborine is herself s a full-sister to the Gr.1 Sprint Cup heroine African Rose, and a half-sister to the unraced dam of the European Champion Two-Year-Old, triple Gr.1 winner and sire Native Trail (Oasis Dream).
