Babouche was a debut winner, breaking her maiden at Cork in June of her two-year-old season. Her five-length victory saw her earn TDN's 'Rising Star' tag.
Her next run saw her powering up the Curragh straight to to win the Gr.3 Anglesey Abbey Stakes on 21st July. Three weeks later she took on the colts in the Gr.1 Phoenix Stakes at the same track and produced another comfortable victory for her first win at the top level.
Trainer Ger Lyons commented: "Even before Cork, she was telling us how good she was," Lyons added. "She'll stay over this trip until she tells us otherwise. We'll take her home and see how she is and at this minute I'd say it will be the [Gr.1] Cheveley Park, subject to discussions, and that will be her done for the year. Colin said there is no rush to step her up in trip at the moment, as she has plenty of speed."
"He's just been very straightforward all year and she's a pleasure to train - I think her greatest strength is her temperament."
Babouche is a full sister to triple Group winner Zarinsk and the third stakes winner and second Group winner out of Pavlosk. She hails from the family of Zafonic and Zamindar.
