Arrest (IRE)
b c Frankel - Nisriyna (Intikhab)
John and Thady Gosden
Arrest made his juvenile debut in July, placing third behind fellow Juddmonte horse Nostrum. He then broke his maiden on his next run out at Sandown less than a fortnight later. His next racecourse appearance saw him win with a five and a half-length margin at the line at Ffos Las over a mile before rounding out his juvenile season with a brave performance in the Gr.1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud where he was narrowly beaten into second place.
Making his first start of his three-year-old season in the 12½f Gr.3 Chester Vase, Arrest was sent to the front of proceedings at the half-mile pole. He continued to assert and crossed the line with an eased-down margin of six and a half lengths.
Arrest (Frankel) punched his ticket to the St Leger with a pillar-to-post victory in the Gr.3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury on Saturday 19th August. Remaining out wide lobbing along on the lead before taking the shortest route around the sweeping home turn, the favourite was shaken up in the centre of the track with three furlongs remaining and maintained a high tempo inside the final quarter-mile to easily withstand the late threat of Ching Shih by a geared-down one and a half lengths.
Arrest was purchased for €440,000 at the 2020 Goffs November Foal Sale from breeders Mariann Klay and Des Leadon of Sowrdlestown Little. He is a half-brother to Group 3 winner and Group 1-placed Dinozzo. His dam Nisriyna is a half-sister to dual Gr.3 winner and Gr.1 Nassau Stakes runner-up Narniyn.
