Westover retired

Following his courageous run in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Gr.1, last Sunday, Westover has sustained a career-ending injury.

He has given us some tremendous pleasure over the last three seasons, highlighted by his Irish Derby Gr.1 win and his track record-breaking performance in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud Gr.1.

Ralph Beckett said: “I am very proud of the horse and what he has achieved, he gave his all every day at home and on the racecourse and we will all miss him.”

This year he has shown an exceptional level of talent to compete with the best middledistance horses in the world. Juddmonte are honoured to have bred and raced such a talented colt and he is up there with the very best of Frankel’s sons.

Stud plans are to be announced at a later date.
