Sunly too good for rivals at Saint-Cloud

Juddmonte homebred Sunly had been on an extended sabbatical after surrendering her perfect record in last July's Gr.2 Prix de Malleret and bounced back on seasonal return to regain the winning thread in Friday's Gr.3 Prix Allez France at Saint-Cloud.

Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 2nd May 2026, By Sean Cronin:

The Francis Graffard trainee went postward as the 12-5 joint favourite and settled into a smooth rhythm, racing off the pace in sixth for Christophe Soumillon, after the initial exchanges of this 10-furlong test. Making eye-catching headway out wide once into the straight, she quickened into contention with 300 metres remaining and found plenty under whipless coaxing to overpower stablemate Tajlina (Kingman) by an ultimately comfortable length and a quarter.

Sunly is the fourth of seven foals and leading performer for multiple Graded-winning Gr.1 E P Taylor Stakes second Suffused, herself kin to four stakes performers headed by Gr.1 St Leger winner Logician (Frankel). Suffused is also a half-sister to the dam of dual Gr.1 Diana Stakes heroine Whitebeam, while her stakes-placed dam Scuffle is a half-sister to sires Cityscape and Bated Breath (Dansili). The winner is a half-sister to the unraced two-year-old colt Charged (Kingman) and a yearling colt by Kingman.
