Straight Answer takes first Listed win

Two-year-old Straight Answer led from start to finish in the Listed Blenheim Stakes at Fairyhouse yesterday.

Taken from the European Bloodstock News and Thoroughbred Daily News, 21st September 2021:

The colt was making only his second start after winning on debut at the Curragh a month ago. He was soon to the front, closely tracked by eventual runner-up
Glengarra. Shaken up at the two-furlong marker, he quickened off an already decent pace to go well clear and score by five and a half lengths, with Glengarra holding on to second and Mise Le Meas coming through to finish a head back in third.

Assistant trainer Shane Lyons commented: "Ger and Barry [Mahon] will speak to the Abdullah family and see where we go now. He'll probably be finished for this season. He's a horse that we've loved and we have to thank the Abdullah family for bringing horses like this into our yard, because this is what we get up for in the morning. He's very calm and collected and he's what a good horse needs to be. He'll keep us dreaming anyway."

Straight Answer is the first stakes scorer from two winners out of the Gr.2-placed winner Straight Thinking (Mizzen Mast), who has a 100 per cent strike rate.
