Laurel River and the Juddmonte International take Longines ‘World’s Best’ accolades

Following the extraordinary eight-and-a-half length victory by LAUREL RIVER (2018 b h Into Mischief – Calm Water) in the 1m2f Dubai World Cup 2024, Juddmonte is pleased to announce his recognition today by Longines as The World’s Best Racehorse alongside City Of Troy in its 12^th year of running.

A second generation Juddmonte US home-bred, Laurel River is the fourth Juddmonte horse to have been crowned Longines World’s Best Racehorse following in the footsteps of Frankel (2011 and 2012), Arrogate (2016 and 2017), and Enable (co-winner with Crystal Ocean and Waldgeist for 2019). Laurel River has been trained by Bhupat Seemar since October 2023 having previously been campaigned in North America. Laurel River is next expected to run on Friday 24^th January 2025 in the Gr.3 Firebreak Stakes at Meydan Racecourse.

We are also pleased to announce that the Gr.1 Juddmonte International has been named the Longines World’s Best Horse Race in 2024, won by City Of Troy. Juddmonte has sponsored the International Stakes at York for 35 years, and it continues to attract many of the best middle-distance racehorses from across the world, reflecting its prominent status in global horseracing.
