First stakes win for Idiomatic

Idiomatic won her third race in succession and gained her first blacktype with a win in the Latonia Stakes at Turfway Park on Saturday.

Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 26th March 2023:

Idiomatic made her stakes debut a winning one and extended her victory streak to three with a sharp two-length score at Turfway Park on 25th March. The bay filly broke alertly from the gate but was content to chase just behind the early pace set by Grand Ave Girl around the first turn and for the run up the backstretch. She confronted the early leader just past the half, which went in :47.63, and soon after taking the narrow lead was tackled by Kate's Kingdom and Bellamore to her outside.

The trio battled all the way around the turn and were soon after joined by a rallying Purrfect who was widest of all, at the quarter pole. Idiomatic was much the best, however, and continued on to the wire with energy to pull away from her tiring rivals to post the win as the 5-2 favorite.

The Curlin filly is out of  full sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Close Hatches, the dam of Tacitus.
