First blacktype win for Dispatches

Dispatches (Frankel), who already has two wins to her name, stepped forward again to secure a career high in her blacktype debut, the Listed Prix Melisande at ParisLongchamp yesterday, ahead of fellow Juddmonte filly Maintain (Kingman).

Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 8th June 2026:

Dispatches, who holds entries for the Gr.1 Prix de Diane and Gr.1 Prix de l=Arc de Triomphe, bagged wins over a mile at SaintCloud in September and when upped to 12 furlongs at Compiegne last month before her win yesterday.

"We had a good trip behind the leader and she did it very easily in the end," said Maxime Guyon. "Last time was over 2,400 metres, and today was over 2,000 metres, and the change in distance was not a problem for her. She's very easy to ride and she's a very good filly."

Shuffled back to occupy a slot in fourth after breaking to the fore, the 4-5 favourite emerged from cover to lock horns with fellow Juddmonte horse Maintain passing the quarter-mile pole and stayed on strongly under forceful urging to defeat that rival in game fashion.

Dispatches is the second of four foals and lone scorer out of an unraced full-sister to multiple Grade 1-winning distaffer Proviso (Dansili), whose descendants include four-time Group 3 winner Recommendation and the dual stakes-winning Gr.2 Royal Lodge runner-up Al Musmak. Her dam Depeche (Dansili) is also a half-sister to Gr.1 Prince of Wales's Stakes-winning sire Byword, multiple Group-winning dual Gr.1 Turnbull Stakes placegetter Finche (Frankel) and the stakes-winning Gr.1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud runner-up Baratti (Frankel). The winner, who becomes the 182nd black-type scorer for her sire, is full to a yearling colt and half to a two-year-old filly by New Bay.
