Juliet Sierra lands the Dick Poole Stakes

Ralph Beckett’s fine season continued yesterday as he landed another big prize when taking the Gr.3 Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes with Juliet Sierra (Bated Breath).

Taken from the European Bloodstock News, 2nd September 2022:

The juvenile daughter of Bated Breath was sent off favourite for the six furlong contest, having won a Nottingham novice by two lengths on her second start a month ago. She settled on the outside of runners in mid-division under Rob Hornby as Funny Money Honey made the running. Juliet Sierra made good progress between the three- and two-furlong markers and was sent for home by Hornby. Funny Money Honey ran a gutsy race, but Juliet Sierra got up inside the final half a furlong and won snugly. All The Time rattled home down the centre of the track, but could only get a never-nearer neck to the winner. Tagline also finished well to take third, three quarters of a length behind the runner-up.

A Juddmonte homebred, Juliet Sierra is a half-sister to Juliet Foxtrot (Dansili), who won the Gr.1 Jenny Wiley Stakes after transferring to the US. Their dam, the French Listed winner Kilo Alpha, is a daughter of Anasazi, a half-sister to the outstanding multiple Gr.1 winner and sire Dancing Brave.
