Juliet Foxtrot wins Gallorette Stakes

Juliet Foxtrot started even-money favourite for the Gr.3 Gallorette Stakes at Pimlico on Saturday (3rd October), and duly obliged to win the 1 1/16 mile contest by a length.

A Grade 3 winner last season following her transfer to the US, the five-year-old daughter of Dansili has placed three times at Grade 1 level.

"(Jabuticaba) had plenty of speed, but I didn't want to be in a hurry. I wanted to sit as long as possible," said jockey Florent Geroux. "When I asked her to go, she went on. We're not sure how far she wants to go. I think she is a true miler," he said. "I think she prefers firm turf, so today the ground was a bit of a concern, but she was able to show her class. She won by her class today."
